The images and cinematography elegantly carry you on a journey through the excitement and emotions of the athletes which will stay with you for years to come. Some Words from Gail Belcher (Abreast In A Boat)

This film rocks! Literally! The spectacular water shots have you believing that you are in the dragon boat, or maybe even that you are on the tip of the paddle. It is a heart-warming and exciting film about the wide variety of people who paddle in beautiful False Creek, Vancouver and beyond. If you ever wondered why a large number of breast cancer survivors or a bunch of college students who are new to the country or a team of blind paddlers or a group of youthful seniors, or “anyone”, would want to engage in this strenuous but fun sport, this film is for you. It has its sad moments. It has its funny moments! Especially when one dragon boater describes that moment of crossing the finish line as,“ better than sex.”

This was a great film to participate in. The filmmakers were a joy to work with. The cast of characters you meet are memorable. My personal favourite moment in the film comes when my team mate Kirsten, a breast cancer survivor, whose death took her from us in August, echoes the title of the film. She lights up the screen saying, “ We are all in the same boat.” It is a wonderful metaphor for a wonderful film. Go see it!
